Abbey Day, Part 2: Rievaulx Abbey

Our second stop of two abbeys on abbey day is Rievaulx Abbey (pronounced 'ree-voh'). Here's the wiki. First, we had to make nice with the local resident.

Abbey Day, Part 1: Byland Abbey

Hi Everyone,

We're coming 'atcha from Byland Abbey. Our first stop on a tour of two abbeys in North Yorkshire. For some history, here's the wiki.

Spring has Sprung

Spring brings twin lambs trotting after their mother. Reminds me of two boys I know, with more running and less following.

A Rainy Day in the Coastal City of Whitby

Today, we braved a rain and wind-swept day in the coastal city of Whitby. We started at the top of the 199 steps at St. Mary's Church and the 13th-century ruins of the Whitby Abbey. Next, we ventured into town and saw a replica of Captain James Cook's Endeavor . We ate lunch at the White Horse and Griffin and then walked along the cliffs overlooking the peer. We hope to return during sunny weather.
